SELECTION
OF MOTOR :
PMDC motor is a constant Torque motor it
gives constant torque staring from standstill to rated speed.
It is used for variable speed requirements in industrial applications.
Due to easy availability of cost effective good quality powerful
magnets these motors are replacing conventional separately
wound motors. They offer a very cost effective solution for
low power variable speed applications.
We need following parameters to offer a suitable motor to
customer:
1. Power (Watts / HP); alternatively
2.Torque (Kgcm or Nm)
3.Speed (rpm)
4.Supply Voltage. (VDC)
5.Mounting (Flange / Foot / Face / Special)
Using above information, with some simple arithmetic we can
find the Torque (or power) of the motor and ultimately our
model of the motor from enclosed datasheets.

In case of Geared Motors, to select a correct Gearbox, the
Ratio of the GB and the Torque required at the O/P of the
